EPIC Berhad reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship with the successful return of the second edition of “EPIC Jom Bersih 2026” at Pantai Batu Buruk 2, Kuala Terengganu, earlier this morning. This coastal site, which previously hosted the Group’s beach-cleaning initiatives and the planting of 100 casuarina equisetifolia saplings late last year, once again became the focal point of a collective effort to safeguard our environment.
The programme rallied approximately 100 passionate volunteers, drawing together staff from EPIC Berhad Corporate Office, Kuala Terengganu Support Base (KTSB), Geng Plastik Ija (GPI), Syarikat Air Terengganu Sdn Bhd (SATU), as well as members of the local community, all united by a shared purpose of protecting the beauty and health of our coastlines.
Through this hands-on beach-cleaning initiative, EPIC Berhad demonstrated a holistic approach to environmental responsibility, fostering collaboration across multiple stakeholders while cultivating a shared sense of duty toward ecological preservation. Clean coastlines, after all, are more than scenic landscapes. They are vital ecosystems, socio-economic enablers, and key attractions that define Terengganu’s tourism appeal.
By the end of the programme, participants had successfully collected a staggering 426 kilograms of waste, swept ashore by monsoon currents and carelessly discarded by visitors. Plastic bottles were sorted and handed over to GPI for recycling, reinforcing sustainable waste management practices.
EPIC Berhad extends its appreciation to every volunteer who dedicated time, energy, and heart to this meaningful cause. The Group also calls upon the wider community to join in safeguarding our environment, a priceless legacy for future generations.
