EPIC Solar Sdn Bhd (ESSB), a subsidiary of EPIC Berhad, celebrated a milestone of 150,000 accident-free man-hours (LTI Free) in a ceremony officiated by its Chairman YB Dr. Haji Mamad Puteh at the company's solar farm in the Teluk Kalong Industrial Area, Kemaman, yesterday. Also present to celebrate this momentous occasion were EPIC Group Chief Executive Officer Ts. Haji Muhtar Suhaili, Board members and senior leadership line-up.
The ceremony was further highlighted with the handover of the "EPIC Solar Car" (ESCAR) key replicas to three subsidiaries of EPIC Berhad; Pangkalan Bekalan Kemaman Sdn Bhd (PBKSB), Konsortium Pelabuhan Kemaman Sdn Bhd (KPKSB), and Sukma Samudra Sdn Bhd. Initially designed for operations at the ESSB Solar Farm, its application has now been extended to various subsidiary operations, with plans to commercialise it as a vehicle for the tourism industry.
ESSB aims to expand its solar-powered service network to enhance the operations of EPIC Berhad subsidiaries. This includes the installation of solar street lights and solar floodlights at the East Wharf terminal managed by KPKSB and the wharf managed by PBKSB, among other support services in the pipeline. These services are also extended to major tenants at the Kemaman Supply Base.
In addition to existing offerings such as project management, consultancy services, and solar panel cleaning, ESSB is currently building its capabilities to become an investor, supplier, and installer of solar rooftops. With its powerhouse team of experienced and highly skilled professionals, the company sets to become a major competitor in the renewable energy sector, driving revenue growth and contributing positively to Terengganu's economic transformation, all while championing EPIC Berhad's unwavering commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence.
