EPIC Berhad last Thursday welcomed His Excellency Francisco da Costa Monteiro, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, to its operational facility in Teluk Kalong, Kemaman. The visit was received by EPIC Berhad Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ts. Haji Muhtar Suhaili. Also in attendance was YBhg. Datuk Anuar Noordin, Chief Executive Officer of Weststar-GAP Aviation LDA.
Proceedings began with a briefing on EPIC Berhad’s business portfolio, highlighting the Group’s involvement across the oil and gas sector as well as its port management-related services. Delegates were also briefed on the ongoing infrastructure development and planned expansion of Kemaman Port, initiatives aimed at supporting growing industry demand while reinforcing the port’s position as a strategic maritime and logistics hub within the region.
This was followed by a tour of the Kemaman Port operational area, where the delegation was given a closer look at the port’s facilities and operational capabilities, which continue to play a significant role in supporting industrial activities along the East Coast.
Beyond strengthening bilateral ties, the visit is hoped to avenues for potential strategic collaboration between both parties, particularly within the oil and gas, logistics, and maritime sectors. The engagement reflects EPIC Berhad’s continued aspiration to expand its international partnerships in support of sustainable industry growth and long-term economic development.
