EPIC Berhad last Friday had the opportunity to be a part of the "Majlis Santuni Nelayan Pantai Daerah Kemaman", a programme led by the Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat Ahli Parlimen Kemaman to aid Kemaman district fishermen.
Held at Kompleks Paya Lasir, Bandar Baru Kijal, the CSR programme aimed to assist 600 fishermen around Kemaman, with the company allocating RM60,000 for monetary aid and food baskets distribution.
The aid distribution session was officiated by Terengganu Menteri Besar and Kemaman Parliament Member YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
Also in attendance were State Tourism, Culture, Environment, and Climate Change Committee Chairman and Kijal ADUN YB Datuk Razali Idris, State Infrastructure, Utilities and Rural Development Committee Chairman and Chukai ADUN YB Haji Hanafiah Mat; Air Putih ADUN YB Mohd Hafiz Adam, and Kemaman District Officer Encik Ahmad Farhan Abd Wahab.
Representing EPIC Berhad were Group Chief Operating Officer Haji Muhtar Suhaili alongside the management team.
May the contributions made significantly ease the challenges faced by the local fishermen, inspiring them to continue playing a vital role in ensuring the ongoing security of our food supply.
