BOARD OF DIRECTORS


 

 

Y.B. DATO’ HAJI MAZLAN NGAH

Y.B. Dato’ Haji Mazlan Ngah is the Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of EPIC Berhad. He was appointed to the Board of EPIC on 4 August 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) Degree from the University of Malaya and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. He has served in various positions in the Terengganu State Civil Service including the Terengganu State Financial Officer, Deputy State Financial Officer, Deputy State Secretary (Development), Deputy Director of the State Economic Planning Unit (SEPU), President of the Kuala Terengganu Municipal Council and Director of SEPU. He is currently the Terengganu State Secretary. He is also a Director in Golden Pharos Berhad, Permodalan Terengganu Berhad and PTB Unit Trust Berhad.

 

ENCIK MOKTAR C. NGAH

Encik Moktar C. Ngah is an Independent Non-Executive Director appointed to the Board of EPIC on 4 August 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Teesside Polytechnic, United Kingdom and Master of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, USA. He served at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in various capacities from 1983-2005 as a Deputy Dean, Dean and Associate Professor for the Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources. He was also the member of Senate for UTM. He is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Pahang since 2008.

 

ENCIK ZULKIFLY ZAKARIA

Encik Zulkifly bin Zakaria was appointed to the Board on 8 February 2012. He graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam and obtained his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. He has 18 years experiences in both banking and finance. He served at Deutsche Bank AG in Germany and ABN-AMRO abroad and was also a pioneer in setting up of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad. He joined UMW Holdings Berhad as the Financial Controller in 1994. In 2002, he was appointed the Executive Director of UMW for six years. In April 2009, he was promoted to the position of President of UMW Oil & Gas. He held this position until he retired in March 2011. Currently, he is the Board Member of Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and also the National Council Member of Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he is also an Exco Member of Malaysia-China Business Council, a member of Malaysia Oil & Gas Services Council and also a member of Malaysia Institute of Management.

  

Y.BHG DATO’ WAN JAAFAR WAN MAHAMUD

Y.Bhg Dato’ Wan Jaafar Wan Mahamud was born in Paka, Dungun, Terengganu. In 1976, Dato’ Wan Jaafar graduated from University of Science Malaysia (USM), Penang with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and upon graduation, worked in the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Socio Economic Research Unit (SERU), Prime Minister’s Department. In 1981, he joined the Administrative and Diplomatic Service (PTD) and served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) as an Assistant Secretary in charge of international organisations where he remained for four years. His career upbringing in diplomacy with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has brought him to experience many parts of the world. He has represented Malaysia for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), New York in 1983. His first posting was as Second Secretary, Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul, Korea. In 1991 he was posted to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea as First Secretary. He was then posted to Madrid, Spain in 1993 and as the Consul General of Malaysia in Songkhla, Thailand in 1999. In 2003, he was sent to Kathmandu, Nepal to open diplomatic mission and served as the first Charge d’ Affaires (CDA). This was subsequently followed by a posting to Manila, Philippines as Minister Counsellor/Deputy Head of Mission. His last post was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Republic of Guinea and also concurrently accredited to the Republic of Liberia, Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, Republic of Guinea-Bissau and the Malaysian High Commissioner to the Republic of Sierra Leone in 2007. For his contribution he was awarded Ahli Mahkota Perlis (AMP), Setia Mahkota Perlis (SMP), Paduka Mahkota Kelantan (PMK) and Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP). Dato’ Wan Jaafar speaks several languages - Bahasa Malaysia, English, Spanish and Thai.

 

ENCIK RAMLI SHAHUL HAMEED

Encik Ramli Shahul Hameed was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2008. He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He is a holder of a Masters of Business Administration Degree from AIU-AIM and a Bachelor (Hons) Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has wide experience in both public and private sectors. He was with Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd., serving in various capacities from 1991 to 1996 as a Drilling Engineer, Development Engineer (Seconded to EPMI) and International Development Engineer (Vietnam & Middle East). In 1996, he was appointed as an Operations Superintendent in Kemaman Supply Base and in 1997, he served as Project Manager of Shapadu Energy & Engineering Sdn. Bhd. He was the Managing Director of TATI Production Sdn. Bhd. from 1998 to 2002. He was subsequently appointed as the East Coast Director of Penaga Dresser Sdn. Bhd. and was formerly the Managing Director of Conor Engineering & Services Sdn. Bhd. He is also a member of the Board Of Engineers since 1992 and was a panel advisor to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Encik Ramli is also a Director of Ladang Rakyat Terengganu Sdn. Bhd. and TDM Plantation Sdn. Bhd. He sits on the Boards of several of the EPIC’s subsidiaries.
